Benign or solitary mesothelioma is also called pleural fibroma

Benign or solitary mesothelioma is also called pleural fibroma. Asbestos exposure plays no role on the etiology of benign mesothelioma. Benign mesothelioma causes no symptoms and is detected as an incidental radiologic finding. Sometimes the tumour is associated with systemic syndrome of osteoarthropathy.

Mesothelioma (benign-fibrous). Definition: A non-cancerous tumour of the pleura (lining of the lung and chest cavity). Benign mesothelioma is not cancerous and through treatment, a full recovery is possible for patients diagnosed. Since it is not a form of cancer, benign mesothelioma is typically addressed easily and immediately once detected. Symptoms of benign mesothelioma are quite similar to those of malignant mesothelioma.
